On Wednesday, March 6, Youngstown Police arrested two individuals while executing a search warrant at a Woodside Avenue home on Youngstown's east side. Devon Moreland, 34, and Tyraile Phillips, 25, were taken into custody on firearm and drug charges.

Police say they recovered 39 pieces of evidence including an AK47, three handguns, ammunition, drugs, and cash from inside the home.

The report says Phillips was arrested on possession of drugs and tampering with evidence charges, as several pieces of evidence where found in and near the upstairs bathroom toilet near where Phillips was located. Additionally, Phillips was arrested for possessing a weapon under disability. This is due to a past gun conviction in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court that decided Phillips was not allowed to have or be around a gun.

Moreland was also arrested for possession of a weapon under disability due to a prior conviction in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for robbery and burglary, the report says.

Both Devon Moreland and Tyraile Phillips are due to be arraigned at Youngstown Municipal Court on Friday, March 8, 2024.
