State Troopers have identified a man who was struck by a pickup truck along Market Street in Boardman.

The pedestrian has been identified as Trevon Gipson, 30, of Struthers. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he is in critical condition. At the time of the incident, he had no identification and cannot identify himself due to injuries sustained.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 21 News that the Ford F-150 ran into Gipson, who was walking along the road near Akron Children’s Hospital just after 3 a.m. Monday.

According to OSHP, Gibson was walking along the right lane Northbound of State Route 7 when he was struck by the truck. After the incident, the driver of the truck continued northbound.

Troopers say the driver of the truck, 50-year-old William Stanley of Youngstown, was found later at Indianola and Avenue and Hillman Street.  Neither Stanley nor his passenger were injured.

Asked if Stanley could face charges for leaving the scene, Troopers say the accident is under investigation.

The crash is still being investigated.
