Rogers man being sentenced for stealing from elderly relative over six years

LISBON, Ohio - A sentencing hearing is scheduled Friday afternoon for a Rogers man who pleaded guilty to stealing from an elderly relative over six years.
Forty-seven-year-old Bryce Bezdek pleaded guilty in April to a third-degree felony charge of theft of a person in a protected class stemming from the theft of money from 77-year-old Byron Bezdek of Rogers.
Investigators claim the crime began in April 2014 and lasted until October 2020.
Bezdek was indicted last year on two counts of theft from a person in a protected class. The other count was dropped as a result of his plea deal.
He could face up to three years in prison.
Bezdek was placed on administrative leave from his job as an Ohio BMV Driver's License Examiner.
