Mercy Health will receive funding from the state to improve oral health in Ohio.

State Senator Al Cutrona announced that the state's Controlling Board approved $110,000 for Mercy Health to improve access to oral health for the state's underserved populations.

With the funding, Mercy Health will develop a continuing medical education program and an enhanced referral network so patients can visit a local dentist's office rather than visiting the emergency room for a non-traumatic dental condition.

"Ensuring that residents of the 33rd Senate District have access to healthcare and dental care is extremely important to me," said Cutrona. "I look forward to seeing the impact of these funds and how they transform the lives of those in the community."
