Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for eight Ohio counties including Trumbull.
The declaration comes after strong storms swept through the area on Tuesday.
The state of emergency was announced for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Portage, Summit, and Trumbull counties. DeWine says the declaration means the state can fast-track assistance as communities continue to clean up.
DeWine is also requesting help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. DeWine says he wants FEMA to come to northeast Ohio for a damage assessment.
