As Austintown residents are in the dark, another Valley community is dealing with its share of power outages as well.

According to alerts sent out by the city, the City of Niles is experiencing power outages in multiple locations including North Road and SR-422, as well as Fairhaven Heights, Bolindale and Surrey Hill.

The city's light department is working on the outages.

According to the alerts, which were sent shortly after 5 p.m., power should be restored sometime within the 6 p.m. hour.

In the meantime, residents are asked not to call police and fire dispatch unless they have an emergency.
