YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Last week, 21 News reported on an 18-year-old Youngstown man accused of accidentally firing a gun during a "To Catch A Predator" sting in a city park. Now, we've learned that same man is accused in another recent incident.

YSU Police tell 21 News 18-year-old Curtis Carver is charged with two counts of assault in connection with an incident on Youngstown State University's campus near the Kilcawley Center.

Police say Carver rode by on a bicycle with a BB gun and shot at two international students while yelling "go back to your country" at them.

Charges were filed in connection with this incident on Wednesday, October 9. Carver was booked in the Mahoning County Jail that same day.

Carver is also accused in a separate unrelated incident in Crandall Park when he convinced a man he met on an LGBTQ+ dating app that he was 17 years old and that he had a 15-year-old brother who would meet him in the park.

Police say when the man showed up and asked to perform a sex act on him, Carver pulled out a rifle hidden in a trash can and chased him. Police say the weapon was accidentally fired during that chase.

Carver is charged with discharging firearms in city limits in connection with this incident.
