Bond has been set for a Warren man accused of raping a woman in Champion Township.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, bond for 64-year-old John Baker was set at $1 million after he pled not guilty to first degree rape and kidnapping charges.
These charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred in February of 2025 when police say Baker showed up at a woman's home after meeting her a few weeks prior.
Police say the woman eventually told Baker she was tired and was going to bed, but Baker came into the room and "forced himself on her" while saying "I needed you. I knew I would get to you."
Baker is due back in court Tuesday, April 29 for a pretrial hearing.
