Owner of Boardman restaurant booked into Mahoning County Jail

According to booking details from the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office, the owner of a restaurant in Boardman will spend several weekends in the Mahoning County Jail.
Michael Alberini, 57, was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Tuesday.
Alberini is charged with violating a protection order or consent agreement.
He will spend a total of six days in jail, divided into two-day segments, as a "weekender," meaning that he will spend the weekends in jail.
This protection agreement stems from an unlawful restraint and menacing incident from December 2021 when Officers were sent to Alberini's Squirrel Drive home after getting a call that he had blocked his then-wife from leaving the home.
During this incident, he allegedly stated that if "anyone comes to the house, there would be a standoff".
Police reported that Alberini was sitting with a semi-automatic rifle on his lap pointed at the front door.
At the time, the victim told officers that she had barricaded herself in a room, saying she feared for her own and her child's safety.
According to court records, Alberini was sentenced on charges of unlawful restraint and menacing in 2022.
