MIDDLETON TWP., Ohio -  A section of State Route 7 in Columbiana County is open to traffic again after storm debris closed it for most of Thursday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The closure affected northbound and southbound lanes between Routes 154 and 30.

The closure stemmed from a downed tree that fell across both lanes of State Route 7 in Elkrun Township. The incident, which occurred around 11:21 p.m. Wednesday, led to two vehicles colliding with the tree. Utility companies worked to remove wires underneath the tree.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lisbon Post stated that severe storms throughout Ohio impacted the response time for tree removal and utility wire clearance.
