AUSTINTOWN Austintown Fitch, who was originally scheduled to hold its homecoming ceremonies at the game against Ursuline High School f has changed the date of those ceremonies.

According to a notice from Austintown Fitch, the homecoming ceremonies, which were originally set to take place September 26 against Ursuline have been moved to September 19 at the game against John R. Buchtel High School.

The homecoming dance itself will still happen Saturday, September 27 as originally scheduled. As of now, Fitch still plans to play Ursuline on September 26.

The school would not comment on record as to why the schedule change was made, but the change comes one week after a lawsuit was filed against Ursuline High School and its football program, bringing to light allegations of hazing and sexual assault against several of its players.

The suit also alleges that Ursuline's coaching staff dismissed the alleged incidents as "just boys being boys" and that the school's administration did not properly investigate the allegations and told students not to discuss the matter.

Since that lawsuit was filed, Ursuline had canceled its September 5 football game against Farrell High School, and as of Monday, September 8.

Additionally, the two assistant coaches named in the suit, Tim McGlynn and Christopher Syrionouidis, were placed on administrative leave, and head coach Dan Reardon was placed on an indefinite suspension.
