Evaluation ordered for suspect in 'violent domestic situation' in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN An evaluation has been ordered on the suspect in what police described as a "violent domestic situation" in Youngstown back in February of 2025.
An order was filed in Judge Maureen Sweeney's court on Tuesday, September 30 ordering a psychiatric evaluation for 40-year-old Clyde Hudson, who is seeking to be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Hudson is charged with aggravated menacing and having weapons while under disability in connection with what Youngstown police described as a "violent domestic situation" on the 500 block of Cambridge Avenue in February of 2025.
Police said the incident began when Hudson and another female got into an argument over money, which eventually escalated to Hudson allegedly pulling out a gun and threatening to "shoot up the house" and "put [a bullet] in her head."
This eventually led to a standoff with Hudson allegedly hiding in the basement. Eventually, police were able to get Hudson to come outside with the help of a negotiator.
