AUSTINTOWN Demonstrators gathered at the Rulli Brothers in Austintown to protest the ongoing government shutdown and U.S. Congressman Michael Rulli, who represents Ohio's 6th Congressional District.

Those who gathered during Monday's protest shared their frustrations with the state of affairs in government.

Some of those frustrations were related to the government shutdown and from what protestors claim is a lack of action from Congressman Rulli.

The government shutdown entered its thirteenth day on Monday. AP News is reporting that the shutdown could continue much longer.

"With no endgame in sight, the shutdown is expected to roll on for the foreseeable future."

Michael Kripchak, a candidate for U.S. Congress in attendance at the protest, had several complaints related to governmental actions.

"They're putting us into another depression. We're in a stagflation situation with the economy petering out, all because of these stupid tariff policies, all because of them not doing their jobs... It accomplishes nothing other than serving as another excuse for the Trump Administration to just fire people," said Kripchak.

In a message directed toward Congressman Rulli, Kripchak stated that Rulli should be working for the constituents he represents and should be working towards a solution to end the government shutdown.

"Get to work. Stop serving your overlords, corporate and presidential, and serve us. That's what we hired you to do, and you need to come to terms with that and work for us, or we're [going to] get you out of office," said Kripchak.

Other protestors present at the gathering called on Congressman Rulli to host a town hall to allow constituents to voice opinions and share concerns directly with their representative.

21 News has reached out to Congressman Rulli and his office, but have not received comment back as of the publishing of this story.
