AUSTINTOWN - A police report has revealed more details about an act of vandalism that occurred at Austintown's Greenwood Chevrolet Falcon Stadium over the weekend.

According to the report, police were called to Falcon Stadium on Saturday, December 27 after Austintown Fitch Athletic Director Russell Houser found that one of the press boxes had been broken into.

Police say a groundskeeper noticed that the door to the press box was open, and another door that separates the two rooms of the press box was damaged and completely off its hinges. Additionally, the groundskeeper noticed that a sliding double-pane window was damaged.

According to the report, this particular press box housed the equipment used to run the stadium's scoreboard and video board. Police say a desktop computer and a laptop computer were missing from the room.

According to the report, the desktop computer was later found smashed in a trash can.

Police say that without the computers, it is hard to tell if any other equipment had been tampered with.

According to the report, nothing was missing from the other press box, except for a microphone that was found in the other press box.

Police also found a fire extinguisher, a fan and a laptop charger that were thrown onto the roof, according to the report, and also found broken cinder blocks in the stands and handicap ramps.

At this time, police do not have any leads on suspects, but the district is checking security footage to see if anyone was captured on there and police are checking red markings that appeared to be blood or red paint on one of the press box doors for DNA.
