Former Campbell Fire Chief faces drug charges after traffic stop

CAMPBELL A former Campbell Fire Chief was arrested on Thursday on charges including drug possession and resisting arrest.
According to a Dec. 28 police report, David Horvath was stopped in his vehicle by police after failing to use his turn signal near Wilson Avenue in Campbell.
Horvath, 70, was ordered to step out of his vehicle eight times after stating he was unwilling to submit a sobriety test, the report states. The officer at the scene also reported seeing a plastic bag filled with a white powder in Horvath's hand while they spoke.
In July, Horvath was placed on suspension from his position as Campbell Municipal Court judge's bailiff, pending legal matters, according to Clerk of Courts Dawn Pesa.
Horvath was also charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia in July, another report states. It is unclear at this time if Horvath returned to his position as bailiff following the pending legal matters.
21 News has reached out to the Campbell Municipal Court for more information on his current employment status with the court.
On Thursday, Dec. 28, after resisting arrest, Horvath was tased, handcuffed and transported to the Campbell Police Department for processing, according to the report.
Horvath was then transported to the Mahoning County jail. A pretrial is set for Jan. 20.
