Warren man pleads guilty in rape, bestiality case
WARREN - Just five days after his wife pled guilty in a rape and bestiality case, a Warren man has entered a guilty plea of his own.
Justin Mayfield pled guilty to seven counts of rape and one count of dissemination of obscene material to minors in Judge Cynthia Rice's court on Monday afternoon.
Mayfield was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison on these charges. Upon release, he must register as a Tier 3 sex offender.
This comes after Mayfield initially declined a plea deal that would have gotten him 50 years to life in prison.
Meanwhile, Justin's wife Shawna Mayfield pled guilty last week to charges of rape, sexual conduct with an animal, pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor and endangering children.
Shawna has not been sentenced yet, but the prosecution is recommending 30 years to life for her.
The two were charged after the Ohio Crimes Against Children Task Force learned of possible child molestation occurring at a home on Waverly Avenue in July of 2025.
The crimes occurred between 2020 and 2025 and involved three juvenile victims between the ages of six and 10 years old at the time. The prosecution said Justin's charges applied to two of the victims and the third victim is connected to Shawna's charges.
Shawna was accused of creating and uploading multiple videos of child sexual abuse material, as well as having sex with the family dog.
