AUSTINTOWN - Planet Fitness, a nationwide gym franchise, is expanding one of its locations in the Mahoning Valley.

Dominic Moltchan, Austintown Township's zoning inspector, confirmed with 21 News on Wednesday that the Austintown location in the Austintown Plaza on Mahoning Avenue will be expanding into a portion of the former Austintown Bounce location next door.

Moltchan says Planet Fitness will be taking over one of the two "suites" occupying the former Austintown Bounce location.

Due to renovations required to house a gym, Moltchan says it will be months before the expansion is ready for its customers to use.
