YSU announces Steubenville program offerings
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Youngstown State University (YSU) has announced its initial program offerings at the Steubenville campus, formerly the site of the Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC).
The announcement comes just a few months after YSU absorbed the Steubenville buildings and accepted the title to the real estate and personal property previously belonging to EGCC.
EGCC announced its plan to dissolve and end formal instruction by the end of October of 2024. The school ceased all operations at the end of September of 2025.
YSU will be offering its first slate of academic programs at the Steubenville campus starting Fall 2026. In a Monday release the university stated that the move "marks a significant milestone in the university's commitment to expanding higher education access and workforce opportunity in the Upper Ohio Valley."
Programs offered in Steubenville are aimed at building both academic and career pathways that align with "regional workforce demand," YSU added in the statement.
Both associate degree and certificate programs are set to be offered this fall:

Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN)
Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology
Associate of Applied Science in Social Work
Associate of Applied Science in Welding
Associate of Arts in Business Administration
Associate of Arts in CLASS
Associate of Arts in Teacher Education
Certificate Programs
Certificate in Police Academy
Certificate in Welding
Certificate in Machining
Certificate in Medical Assisting
