Model from Howland lands national Clairol ad

Posted: Updated:
HOWLAND, Ohio -

You may not recognize the blonde hair blue eyed beauty , but chances are Sydney Perez has been seen in your house, on your computer, even at your favorite store.

That's because Perez is a model and has glammed up for some big name ads in the past.

"I worked for Amazon and I had a big ad in Glamour which was like everywhere," said Perez.

But a career behind the camera wasn't always in the plans for the 22-year-old, whose original focus was on playing soccer at the University of Akron.

"I got hurt I tore my ACL the summer before I went to college. I was rehabbing and I ended up breaking my foot and my body wasn't having it," said Perez.

So she flipped the switch, dabbling in modeling then making the leap to NYC to work with a modeling company.
Now, Perez is changing the game as the face of Clairol's new hair color product, taking over the boxes of Kaleido color kits, and hitting the tv in Clairol commercials.

"This is different because it's a national campaign so it's gonna run for a long time, it could run for years. The pay was great. The atmosphere was great. It was different from anything I've ever done just cause it was so big," said Perez.

The national ad is already in stores including Sally Beauty Supply, but the young model says she doesn't plan on striking a pose forever.

"I'm probably gonna go to law school. I don't want to model forever. I love it, but I do want to settle down and stay in one place,"said Perez.

Now, with one semester left of school, Perez plans to continue modeling in big cities, but says no matter how many places she goes, when it comes to Howland, there's no place like home.
