STRUTHERS, Ohio - A home improvement company with a large customer base and years in business has complaints filed against it.

Shane Morlan and his husband Eric refinanced their house and wrote two checks totaling 19,200 to Energy Wise Home Improvements for a new roof, roof extension, and 12 new windows. Morlan tells us the owner Anthony Porrazzo told them that work on the roof would start October 8th with windows installed October 15th.  But no work has been done no materials delivered. Morlan said, "Tony the owner came to see September 28th, and told us and at that point in time he said they had an end of the month special they were running so if we paid the rest of the balance which was $8,000 right then they would give us a discount of 10 percent, so we ended up paying the rest that day."

An upset sub-contractor who also stopped by the business on Struthers Poland Road said angry customers are calling him about work not done, however, he has not been paid and therefore he can't pay his workers who have done jobs and have families to feed.

A customer there was also trying to find out what was going on. The resident of Canfield told 21 news he financed a deck, the materials are at his house, but the work is not done. His wife had been calling for a few days with no answer so he went to the location on Struthers Poland Road to find out what was going on.

He found the doors locked, and no lights on inside. The phone number on the signs just rings with no answer.

Melissa Ames Vice President of Better Business Bureau Services said, "They have been a long established business and they had a large customer base. We have been fielding calls with customers who have done business with them. We are trying to find out what is going on and what is happening with work. Right now we have been advising people to file a police report and to file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office. Ames said, "File a police report, then file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General. At this point, it appears have taken the money and are not rendering services, so this is something authorities would have to look into. We are also recommending if you financed your project that you contact your finance company immediately and let them know. That way perhaps you can work out some type of arrangement with them."

The owner has not returned our calls for a comment. The business address is listed as being in Struthers, however, the plaza is actually in Boardman Township according to other plaza tenants.
