YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - New bus service from Youngstown to Warren is dead on arrival.

Cuts in state funding for Ohio transit agencies has forced the WRTA to cancel plans to connect YSU to Eastern Gateway in Warren.

"We had secured a grant competitively for $790,000 to institute that service.  It was good for up to three years. We felt if we put that service out it would be used," said the WRTA's Jim Ferraro.

A planned Austintown loop will go on as scheduled and will not be effected by the state cuts.
