BUTLER, Pa. - A former organist at a Warren church has been arrested in Pennsylvania for failing to fully register as a sex offender.

State Police say they arrested  63-year-old Donald James Rasely of Butler Township, Pa. for allegedly failing to fully comply with registration requirements under Pennsylvania's Megan's Law.

According to a news release, Rasely failed to register three places of employment, including the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Warren, Ohio.

Rasely also did not register two email addresses and the alias of D.J. Raisley, which he used at the church. State police note that the Rasely gave the church an incorrect spelling of his last name.

Rasely made an initial court appearance on eight felony charges. His bond was set at $20,000 and he was ordered to have no contact with children.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church Pastor, Rev. Dee Emmert tells 21 News that Rasely played the church organ for four years up until last Sunday.  Emmert says Rasely was not under contract, but after learning of his arrest, decided that he will no longer be working at the church.

Emmert says that Rasely had no access to children at the church.

In 2007, Rasely was convicted of indecent assault and corruption of minors in Butler County, Pa.

His sentencing included no contact with minors and that he be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
