A Champion Township woman made a frantic call for help over the weekend. The woman told police she was jogging Saturday morning, when a man in a truck approached her and tried to run her down.

The woman told police a man in a royal blue truck pulled up next to her and asked her for directions. When she couldn't help, the woman told police the driver came after her. She ran to a neighbor's house and called 911 for help.

Champion township police, the Trumbull County Sheriff's office and nearby agencies began looking for the truck, but failed to find it.

"She did everything right, she didn't let him get close enough to touch her," Chief Chris Redick said, Champion Township police.

The jogger described the man as a white male, in his late 40's, early 50's, with a thin build. The jogger says the man was wearing a white ball cap at the time.
