YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Three people have been sentenced for their part in an incident involving the branding of a Struthers teen.

Laurie Lyden, Brian Pryjma and Ronald Bier appeared in Mahoning County Court on Thursday where they were sentenced for child endangering and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Lou D'Aplolito handed down a sentence of nine months in jail to thirty-nine-year-old Pryjma, who along with Bier was also convicted of assault.

Thirty-six-year-old Bier was sentenced to six months incarceration.

The three Struthers residents were charged along with Andrew Kocak of Boardman for their part in an August incident in which seventeen-year-old Derrick Reber was repeatedly branded with a heated snuff can and throwing star at a home in Struthers.

Forty-seven-year-old Laurie Lyden, a former Mahoning County Sheriff's office secretary, who was originally charged with corrupting another with drugs and endangering children, was given a suspended 30 day jail term.  Lyden has been placed on probation for one year.

Investigators say Lyden took a video of the alleged branding incident, and allegedly offered the victim pills and marijuana to ease the pain.

Kocak, the fourth suspect, was sentenced earlier to three years in prison after pleading guilty earlier to charges of endangering children, corrupting another with drugs, felonious assault and two counts of intimidation.
