MERCER, Pa. - A Farrell man who was already charged with kidnapping, rape, and assault, faces 85 new charges for allegedly kidnapping, stalking, raping and terrorizing another woman.
A district magistrate set bond at $100,000 dollars for 26-year-old Glavin Justan Ivy, who was already in jail for a previous, similar incident.
Last week, Mercer detectives filed the new charges against Ivy which include rape, indecent assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, assault, harassment, stalking, and making terroristic threats.
The charges are based on alleged incidents that occurred from March 30, 2014 and May 5, 2014 according to a criminal complaint.
A 23-year-old woman tells investigators that after becoming friends for a few months, Ivy became angry when she brought a birthday cake to his Fruit Street home.
She says Ivy shoved her, took her shoes, and locked her in his bedroom until 4 am the following day.
According to the woman, Ivy threatened to physically and sexually assault her younger sister and kill her parents if she tried to leave his home.
The woman tells police that it was fears over similar threats that kept her returning to Ivy's home on eight other occasions in the following weeks.
She says on one occasion, Ivy grabbed the steering wheel of the car she was driving, forcing the vehicle off the road. The woman says Ivy brandished a knife and threatened her.
Seven days later, the woman says Ivy threw her to the floor and slapped her face, dragging her by the hair. She says Ivy strangled her until she passed out. The woman claims that Ivy again threatened her family and raped her, refusing to let her leave his home until the following morning.
The following Easter Sunday, the woman told police that Ivy became angry, shoved her into a wall and threw her to the floor. She says she was forced into the basement and was locked in there for hours. The woman says eventually Ivy dragged her to his bedroom, locked her inside, then attempted to strangle her and raped her again.
The following day, she says she was raped again and locked in the bedroom. She says Ivy locked her in the basement again later in the day, not permitting her to eat, drink, shower, or change clothes.
According to the alleged victim, she was eventually permitted to eat two crackers and use the restroom under Ivy's supervision.
She says when Ivy caught her trying to escape through a window, he raped her again.
When Ivy did allow her to leave the following day, she says she had to visit a doctor for a dislocated rib.
Four days later, she says Ivy once again locked her in his bedroom, threatened her and raped her. She says she wasn't allowed to leave until the following morning.
On April 29, 2014, according to the criminal complaint, the woman says Ivy forced her to drive to his home where she was locked inside and forced to inhale a drug. She says the drug paralyzed her, and she was unable to do anything as Ivy allegedly raped her. She says she was allowed to leave the next morning.
One day later she says Ivy ordered her to come to his home where he allegedly told her to cut her wrists. Although the woman says she made a small cut, she says she refused to kill herself.
The woman says Ivy led her upstairs to what he allegedly called the “torture room”. According to the woman, the room included items such as a crowbar, a drill, a sickle, knives, a hammer, a bat and cable.
She says that Ivy told her if she would not kill herself, he would have to kill her. Ivy allegedly placed a cable around the woman's neck and strangled her until she nearly passed out.
The woman says Ivy's mood then changed and he helped bandage her wrist. When she tried to escape, she say Ivy dragged her to his bedroom where he struck her and raped her, not letting her out of his house until the following morning.
The last incident listed on the criminal complaint is May 5, 2014. The woman says on that day, Ivy ordered her to come to his home where he demanded that she perform a sex act on him. She says when she protested, Ivy threatened her until she complied. The woman says she was locked in the home until the following morning.
At one point, the woman tells investigators that Ivy came to her home just to prove that he knew where she lived and knew who her family members were. She says she complied with Ivy's orders to protect her family from Ivy's threats, which she believed he would carry out.
The Mercer County Assistant District Attorney tells 21 News that this case is separate from a somewhat similar incident reported to Sharon Police in November 2014.
In that case, Ivy was charged with kidnapping, assault, rape, and unlawful restraint after an incident involving a 30-year-old woman he met through an online dating service, “Plenty of Fish”.
According to court records, the other woman also claimed that Ivy refused to allow her to leave his home and forced her to engage in sex against her will because she was afraid.
Due to an appeal filed by Ivy, that case has yet to go to trial.
A ruling issued last week by Pennsylvania Superior Court should clear the way for that case to proceed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
