A supportive housing complex is starting to take shape on Youngstown's north side.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A supportive housing complex is starting to take shape on Youngstown's north side.
Meridian HealthCare, Help Hotline and Compass Family & Community Services plan to open The Commons at Madison Avenue in 2017.
The facility will provide affordable housing for people with mental illness and addiction issues.
"There is such a need for affordable housing in our community especially for the target population we are looking to service in this facility. Everybody needs housing. Everybody needs a nice place to live and a good place to live so they can make the rest of their life better," said Joe Caruso with Compass Family & Community Services.
The Commons at Madison Avenue will provide onsite counseling and nursing services.
