LORDSTOWN, Ohio - The United Auto Workers is already taking steps to assist Lordstown workers who will be losing their jobs March first.

State employees have set up a transition center inside the Local 1112 union hall to assist in meeting the needs of workers now facing unemployment.

"We're encouraging people to come out and stay up to date on your information. If you have any issues with your unemployment or TARCA we want to make sure they get the right information," Dave Green, UAW Local 1112 President said.

Green says in addition to UAW members the services are available to any area workers who will be impacted by the GM layoffs.
