The lockdown at St. Elizabeth Boardman and Youngstown have been lifted as of 1:20 pm Thursday.

Mercy Health facilities in Youngstown and Boardman were placed under lockdown after hospital officials investigated a threat.

Hospital spokesperson Jonathan Fauvie tells 21 News that the lockdown was imposed at St. E's main campus in Youngstown and the Boardman campus on Market Street shortly before 11 am Thursday after receiving what is being described as a "non-specific external threat."

Under the lockdown, no one was admitted to the facilities other than from ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

The hospitals operated as usual inside the facilities.
