Vaping-related lung illness reported in Mahoning County
A vaping-related lung illness has been reported in Mahoning County. It's now among the 28 reported cases of severe pulmonary illnesses linked to vaping in the state of Ohio.
The Ohio Department of Health reports 25 of those cases have led to a hospitalization. Health officials are also investigating 30 more illnesses, which could be linked to vaping.
There have been no deaths reported in the state so far.
The Mahoning County Department of Health says they do not have any specific details on the victim in Mahoning County and do not know if they were hospitalized.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, there is still no known links to a specific type of product that is causing the illnesses. They say vaping products have many substances and may include nicotine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), synthetic cannabinoids, or a combination of these.
