The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a hard fought decision to Wright State on Wednesday evening at Alumni Field.

Addie Roman scored her third goal of the season at the 51:08 mark but the Raiders regained the lead on a goal from Destiny Johnson in the 65th minute to earn a 2-1 victory. 

The Raiders improve to 10-3-2 overall and 5-2 in the Horizon League while the Penguins drop to 3-12-1 overall and 1-6 in the league.

After applying a decent amount of offensive pressure in the first half, Wright State took the lead with just 15 seconds left. Josie Krupp dished a through ball that trickled its way to Kaylin Helinski who was able to just sneak it past McEachern. 

Kate McEachern had a solid first half in net making fives while three different Penguins recorded a shot.

The Penguins answered the Wright State goal early in the second half when Marcella Sizer swung a pass to Addie Roman who was able to blow by the defense to tie the game at 1-1 in the 52nd minute. 

The Raiders responded with a goal just 13 minutes to retake a 2-1 lead. Jordyne Helinski connected with Johnson on a pass who was able found the back of the net at the 64:49 mark. Johnson scored her Horizon League leading ninth goal of the season. 

For the game, the Raiders outshot the Penguins 18-13 and had more corner kick opportunities, 4-2. McEachern finished the contest with eight saves and eight different Penguins registered a shot. 

The Penguins return to Farmers National Bank for the final home game of the regular season on Sunday, October 27 when they host Detroit Mercy at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
