Students Motivated by the Arts, or SMARTS is hosting their holiday open house showcasing several local art students.

The celebration, happening this evening at the Ohio One building, is offering food, drinks, and free activities to those attending.

During the event, students will display their fall art projects.

Students displayed sculptures, musical talent, creative writing, and more.

Teacher with the Mad About the Arts Program, Tate Keck, said he's proud also to get the opportunity to teach in the local school system.

"We're just growing by leaps and bounds, in addition to the work that we do here we're in schools out in the community during the school day," Keck said. "We've planted our teachers in schools. Never trying to replace full-time arts teachers."

Keck also said they are trying to help school districts to regain their arts programs during the school day.

SMARTS is now accepting new student enrollment for January.

Those classes include ceramics, painting, animation, piano lessons, voice lessons, theatre, and more.

All classes are first come first serve.
