PA COVID-19 cases slow slightly on Sunday, no new cases reported locally

On Sunday Pennsylvania saw a slowing in COVID-19 cases and deaths with 962 new cases and 26 new deaths.
The state now has 49,267 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,444 total deaths.
Deaths slowed slightly in Pennsylvania Sunday, after 64 new deaths were reported on Saturday.
Mercer and Lawrence Counties both reported no new cases or deaths on Sunday.
Mercer County has 66 cases and one death while Lawrence County has 65 cases and 6 deaths.
Both Mercer and Lawrence counties are expected to relax coronavirus restrictions beginning May 8, as the counties move from red to yellow coronavirus precaution stages.
On Friday, Gov. Tom Wolf announced the reopening of 24 counties across the state, moving them from red to yellow stages.
The Yellow phase relaxes some restrictions on work and social interaction but schools, gyms, hair, and nail salons will remain closed and limitations around large gatherings will remain in place.
On Monday, the administration will release guidance for businesses permitted to reopen as restrictions relax.
