YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University students were a part of a unique graduation Saturday morning.

While they were not able to walk across the stage in person, the university put together a virtual graduation ceremony and video presentation honoring the graduates.

The virtual commencement showed digital diplomas with each graduate's name and their field of study.

President Jim Tressel made a speech as he does every graduation.

The coronavirus pandemic caused the cancellation of in-person commencement that would have had nearly 5,000 people in attendance.
