The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (CFMV) has announced a new Arts and Culture Challenge Grant program.

The grants are intended to support smaller art and culture organizations with an operating budget of less than $250,000.

Those selected as part of the program have 30 days to raise money with the Community Foundation matching up to $2,500.

CFMV says arts and culture organizations will play an important role in the area's recovery from the COVID-19 and that the cancellation of events for these organizations have left them struggling more than ever.

"The Foundation has very limited funds earmarked for arts and culture, but we know how important these organizations are to maintaining and strengthening community," said Casey Krell, the Foundation's director of supporting organizations and donor services. "Hopefully, our matching dollars will incentivize community donors to support their favorite arts and culture nonprofits and increase the impact we can have on these cultural institutions."

The deadline to apply for the grants is June 1, 2020 and the application form can be found here.
