The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has announced the recipients of their Ethics and Integrity scholarships.

According to the release, five local high school students will receive the awards.

Below are the recipients and the BBB accredited business they are affiliated with:

  • Joshua Comport of Canfield High School, Premier Bank
  • Albin Dearing of Poland Seminary High School, Dearing Compressor & Pump
  • Mathew Miller of of Lakeview High School, Chemical Bank
  • Ashley Thompson of Canfield High School, Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic CPAs
  • Dana Spagnoletta of Niles McKinley High School, Tight Seal Glass Block

The five students will receive $1,000 one-year post-secondary scholarships. To qualify for the scholarships, applicants have to be the child or grandchild of an owner or employee of a BBB accredited business.

Both Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC and Farmers Trust Company sponsored the 2020 scholarships.

"The BBB scholarship program has never been more important than in 2020 with so many senior activities cancelled due to the pandemic," said Carol Potter, President & CEO of the Better Business Bureau.
