Stay-at-Home violation suspect nabbed in Warren with gun and 30-round magazine

WARREN, Ohio - A Leavittsburg man who was already wanted for violating Ohio’s Stay-at-Home order faces new charges after Warren police say they found him with a laser-sighted gun with a 30-round extended magazine.
Police say they pulled over Dozie Blackmon’s Chevy Equinox at Shadi’s Market on Tod Avenue on Tuesday because the numbers on the temporary license tag were faded.
Police say Blackmon was reluctant to tell them whether there was a gun in the car but eventually admitted that there was.
After Blackmon was handcuffed, police say they found a Ruger P95 9mm with a laser green dot sight and a 30-round extended magazine under the driver’s seat.
Blackmon admitted that he did not have a driver’s license and that there was a warrant for his arrest
That warrant was issued by Warren Police back in April for allegedly violating Ohio’s Stay at Home Order that in place at the time mandating social distancing.
Blackmon was among 23 people cited after police were called on April 11 to break-up a large group partying in the streets at Kenmore and Somerset S.E.
After being taken to the county jail, Blackmon was pleaded not guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon under a disability.
Bond was set at $20,000. He’s due back in court next month.
