WARREN, Ohio -  A Warren man has been charged after police say they chased a group of four-wheelers and a dirt bike weaving through traffic on the city’s Northwest Side.

Officers say they spotted two four-wheelers and the dirt bike speeding trough traffic, popping wheelies, and running red lights near South and Elm at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

As police followed, the group was joined by two more four-wheelers near Parkman Road.

Officers say most of the vehicles sped away after spotting the police cruisers near Summit Street and Tod.

One four-wheeler that had fallen behind drove across two lanes of traffic and onto a sidewalk near the 600 block of Summit Street.

After spotting the suspect trying to re-start the four-wheeler near a building, an officer trying to grab him says the suspect pushed the officer away and ran.

After a short chase on foot, police captured the suspect who they identified as 27-year old Austin Lunsford.

According to the police report, Lunsford claimed that someone had drugged him.

Lunsford was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for observation.

He has been charged with failure to comply with a police order and driving with a suspended license.
