Back the Blue Rally in Canfield shows support for police

CANFIELD, Ohio - Dozens came out to a rally in Canfield for law enforcement officers Saturday afternoon.
There was a big show of community support for law enforcement officers at a Back the Blue Ohio Rally.
A motorcycle escort, led by the Blue Knights, rolled into the Canfield Green slightly before 1 p.m., which kicked off the event. Gianna Oliver then sang the national anthem. Afterward, people prayed for law enforcement officers and their families.
Co-founder Christine and her husband, Sam Oliver, formed this nonprofit organization.
"I wanted to show officers that we support them, and the community supports them. It is going to be an emotional day when the names of officers who have died in the line of duty over the last two years are read. We decided to form this nonprofit organization to help with law enforcement related causes. This year, money raised will go to children of fallen officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty," said Christine Oliver.
Michael Sauger, president of the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police, traveled to the Mahoning Valley to support his brothers and sisters in blue.
"The majority of cops are doing what they need to be doing; they're great cops, and they risk their lives every single day for our citizens. I want everyone here to become the vocal majority and call their local, state and federal lawmakers and voice support for law enforcement who work to help make communities safe," Sauger said.
Nationally recognized artist Ray Simon as well as artist Ron Moore, Junior -- who has created dozens of pictures for victims of violent crimes -- auctioned their artwork to help raise money for this event.
Money raised will go to children of fallen officers. Each year, money raised at the Back the Blue Ohio will go directly to law enforcement causes.
