Ford issues recall on some Explorer models

DETROIT, MI. - The Ford Motor Company has issued a safety recall for select 2013-2017 vehicles.
According to the release, Ford has issued a recall for some 2013-2017 Ford Explorers due to potential fractures in the outboard section of the rear suspension.
The release says the affected vehicles were sold in areas of North America where corrosion is common.
The fracture of a rear toe link can diminish steering control and increase the risk of a crash.
According to the release, there have been 13 reports of accidents and six injuries related to the issue.
Approximately 350,000 vehicles in the U.S. and 25,200 in Canada were affected.
The cars were built at a assembly plant in Chicago from September 2012 to January 2017.
Dealers will complete a torque inspection of the cross-axis ball joint and replace it as necessary.
The Ford reference number for the recall is 20S62.
