NILES, Ohio - Niles City Schools are switching to all remote learning due to several coronavirus cases in the Niles zip code.
The district announced Wednesday that school would continue remotely until students return from winter break.
The switch to remote learning will start Monday, November 23, and continue through Friday, December 18.
According to the release, the Niles School District hopes to return to a blended learning model with cohorts A and B on Monday, January 4, or Tuesday, January 5.
The district decided due to the rise of cases locally and throughout the state.
Athletics and school activities are still ongoing at this time, but the district says they will be reevaluated frequently.
