Ohio's COVID-19 10 p.m. curfew affecting local businesses

All non-essential businesses were ordered to close until 5 in the morning.
It will remain this way, at least for the next 21 days.
There are several businesses in Austintown that will be impacted by the curfew.
Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course has to make some big adjustments as the state orders them to shut during curfew hours.
"We will be closing tonight at 10 pm and reopening tomorrow at 7 am. That will be our new daily hours," said Allie Evangelista.
Even after Governor Dewine issued a 10 P.M. alcohol curfew several months ago, the casino remained open at all hours on the weekends and only closed from 4 to 7 a.m. during the week. The GM said this would impact their staff.
"It always hurts us because we have to reduce team members' hours, and during the holidays, the last thing we want to do is cut people's income," said Evangelista. "But we are very grateful to still be open and have a place to employ our team members and have a place for our community to come and enjoy."
Austintown Cinema is adjusting to the curfew and social distancing by allowing people to rent out an entire movie theater all to themselves.
"We are offering private bookings for family and groups that want to come together," said Manager Jacob Gray. "(They can) Have their own auditorium, be separated from the public, and it gives people a great peace of mind."
As they continue to enforce pandemic rules and sanitize the theaters regularly-- the manager says the 10 o'clock curfew won't affect the movie theater too much.
"Generally, what we will be doing is moving our end showtimes so that the last movie will get out around 9:30 P.M instead of 10 o'clock."
If you're a late-night iron pumper or get some early morning cardio in, you might have to reschedule your workout. Planet Fitness in Austintown, a 24-hour gym, now has to shut down from 10 to 5 am.
"I have had a lot of calls. People call in and ask what time and ask what our new hours are," said employee Megan Fultz. "And one guy I was talking to today, he saw me putting up the signs, and he was a little upset because I guess he usually comes in before workaround like four, so now we don't open until five, so he has to change his schedule because we don't open until later."
While they are closed overnights, they plan to have crews clean and sanitize the gym and equipment.
