YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -  A man involved in a police standoff at his Struthers home now faces a federal charge.

A federal grand jury has handed up a one-count indictment charging 25-year-old Marc Cooper with a firearms violation.

According to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court, Cooper held two people at gunpoint at a home on October 17.

Cooper’s sister went inside the house and was able to get both people out unharmed.

After Struthers Police called in the Crisis Response Team, Cooper came outside.

Police say they used a Taser on Cooper after he refused to put up his hands.

According to a federal agent, Cooper had a .38 caliber semi-automatic pistol.  Since Cooper has a previous felony conviction for burglary, he was not legally permitted to possess a firearm, according to the federal indictment.

Cooper was placed on probation after being charged with abduction in Struthers Municipal Court.
