FAIRVIEW TWP., Pa. - PennDOT is inviting the public to look at virtual plans for a bridge rehabilitation project in Mercer County.

The project is for the Fairview Road bridge in Fairview Township that goes over Neshannock Creek.

The rehabilitation project would close the bridge for approximately two months and create a 16-mile detour using Route 19, District Road, Route 58, and Delaware Street.

The project will create a new concrete deck, barriers, and abutment waterproofing.

Work on the project is expected to start this summer.

The box beam bridge was built in 1965 and was classified as poor condition.

More than 800 cars use the bridge on average daily.
