A Warren woman convicted of leading police on a half-hour chase through Trumbull County was sentenced Thursday.

Twenty-two-year-old Quannita Pruitt will spend the next three years in prison after police said she led them on the pursuit when officers tried to pull her over back in September.

According to the Warren Street Crimes Patrol Unit, officers spotted a white SUV outside the Fast Lane on West Market Street.

Someone had called 911, saying there was a woman with a gun inside the SUV.

Police say they chased a man who had jumped out of the car, using their tasers to eventually stop the suspect, who was later identified as 25-year-old Brian Atkins of Warren.

Officers say they went back to the SUV, which sped out of the Fast Lane parking lot.

Police began chasing the SUV after spotting it near the Walmart in Bazetta Township.

The pursuit went through Niles at high rates of speed through red lights and heavy traffic.

At one point, police say the SUV was traveling into opposite lanes of traffic.

Police from several communities along the way and sheriff’s deputies, and state troopers joined the pursuit that ended at Merriweather Street and Southern Boulevard NW when police say Pruitt was captured on foot.

Police said Pruitt was also wanted for alleged theft at Burlington Coat Factory back in April.
