Valley bars and restaurants react to Ohio's curfew being lifted

AS YOU CAN IMAGINE IT WAS A UNANIMOUS POSITIVE REACTION FROM ALL OF THE RESTAURANTS THAT I SPOKE TO AFTER GOVERNOR DEWINE LIFTED THAT CURFEW YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND FROM THE RESTAURANTS THAT WE SPOKE WITH THEY'RE SEEING MORE AND MORE PEOPLE COME BACK AND THEY'RE CONTINUING TO URGE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT LOCAL.
"You Know for us it's going to be way better now," SAYS Ottavio Musumeci, owner of station square ristorante.
Valley restaurants are celebrating the governor's news lifting the statewide curfew, and for Valley bars and restaurants, more hours means more flexibility for them and their patrons.
"People can enjoy having their dinner at the bar, having their dinner a little later. We can keep the kitchen on weekends until 10 or 10:30 p.m.; you can come in later and have a meal."
For many restaurants, like Donnavitos in Struthers, they're excited to see more and more people out and supporting local businesses.
"I think it's a step in the right direction, which I'm happy and excited about. It's been a rough time for our industry; For restaurants and bars. I'm excited to see the curfew to be lifted to try and get back some normal business," said Alan Donatelli, owner of Donavitos.
In a statement, the state of Ohio said, "The curfew was not put in place until it was absolutely necessary when hospitalizations spiked. Acting when necessary continues to be our approach."
