Suspect arrested for Warren robbery, wounded victim left at hospital

A Warren man has pleaded “not guilty” to a robbery charge filed after police found drugs and cash inside an SUV that carried a gunshot victim to a hospital late last month.
Richard Nichols, 24, was arraigned Thursday following his arrest the night before.
Nichols is one of two men charged in connection with a February 11 incident when 30-year-old Raymond Harrison was brought to the HMHP Community Care Center in Warren for treatment of a gunshot wound of the throat. Harrison was transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
Inside a Toyota RAV4 parked outside the emergency room entrance, police found a baggie of suspected heroin, a digital scale, and cash.
Police found a shell casing at the alleged shooting scene on the 200 block of Belmont Street NW.
Authorities also filed charges of aggravated robbery and felonious assault against 18-year-old Jody Hall of Warren in connection with the incident. A warrant was issued for Hall's arrest.
Nichols is scheduled to appear in Warren Municipal Court again next week.
