Not guilty plea entered by Boardman bus aide accused of dragging preschool student

BOARDMAN, Ohio - A Boardman Local School bus aide who is on administrative leave has entered a not guilty plea to a charge filed after an incident involving a preschool student.
Court records show that township police charged 70-year-old David Genuske of Canfield entered the plea to count of child endangering on Monday. Another hearing is scheduled for April 29.
According to a police report, on Tuesday, March 16, children's services told police that Genuske dragged the child by the back of his shirt and bookbag from the bus to the awning of the school door.
The four-year-old child attends the ESC's preschool that is housed at West Boulevard Elementary.
Officers later spoke with the School Resource Officer who was able to confirm an incident had occurred and was captured on the school's security cameras.
The mother of the child was notified by the school the day after the incident and told police she did not see any marks or bruises on him, according to the report.
Upon receiving the report from the ESC, the district immediately began an investigation, notified children's services of the allegation, and the police were notified.
The bus aide was then immediately placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
