UNION TWP, Pa. - A rescue in Lawrence County saved about one dozen baby ducklings from a storm drain.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says a woman found the 11 ducklings stuck in the drain along West State Street in Union Township around 1:30 p.m Thursday afternoon.

Members of the fire and police departments then came out to help free the animals, making several trips down three to four drains to help get the animals out.

The ducklings were taken away from the main road to a local pond where they were released.

The mother duck did fly to that spot later and was reunited with her babies.
