NILES, Ohio -  Niles Police say they’ve linked a local couple to some break-ins near their home and surrounding neighborhoods.

Two arrests have been made following an investigation into burglaries at seven garages in the Cedar, Beaver, and Robbins Avenue area over the past few weeks.

Investigators, who say the break-ins were in the same pattern and time frame, got a break in the case when 35-year-old Teena Ward was arrested while allegedly selling items stolen from one of the burglarized garages.

Police, who increased patrols in the area, heard a car horn in an alley and found a woman who said she had been charged by a man who was trying to steal a motorbike from her garage.

After searching the area, police caught 48-year-old William Peterson, who lives at the same address as the stolen property suspect, Teena Ward, who is charged with receiving stolen property.

Peterson faces charges of menacing and breaking and entering.
