Warren woman’s Facebook complaints lead to arrest of baby’s dad

WARREN, Ohio - Facebook posts by a Warren woman got the attention of police who ended up arresting the father of the woman’s baby on a charge of child endangering.
Police got a tip from a citizen late Tuesday that she had seen Facebook posts from a woman complaining that the father of her 14-month-old son left the child at home alone while the dad drove to Walmart to pick up the mom.
Officers tracked down the couple to a home on North Feederle Drive where, according to the police report, 25-year-old Brett Rodgers admitted leaving the tot and the couple’s new dog home alone while he drove to the Walmart in Bazetta Township to pick up the child’s mother.
The report says Rodgers told officers that it was a bad idea to leave the baby alone.
The mom told police she didn't call them to report what happened because she was afraid Rodgers would leave her, according to the report.
Police checked on the tot and found him sleeping in a crib upstairs.
Rodgers, who was booked into the county jail on a charge of child endangering, pleaded not guilty to the charge in Warren Municipal Court on Wednesday. He is free on bond awaiting a July 22 court hearing.
